This painting exudes joy. It started off with a happy accident. As I was painting on another painting using the mixing palette, a series of colors and patterns emerged. The colors were a beautiful combination of vibrant pinks, reds, oranges, yellow and a deeply contrasting blue and turquoise. The combination struck joy immediately. I couldn’t bring myself to throw away the mixing palette sheet. Instead I kept them thinking these colors inspire me. As I was thinking about what to paint next, a joyful thought struck me and I felt as if God himself told me to replicate it and the painting Joy, was brought to life. I used the three mixing palette designs, picked one to start with and realized the color palette and design was even more beautiful on a large scale, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the result. It was a vision and a dream brought to life. The closer you get the more details you find, which is so often the concept in life. Something seemingly small can become larger than life. How seeds become trees or flowers with intricate designs. This is the first of 3-part series: Joy.
